About the pattern
Newbie Mittens are worked from the cuff to the fingertips, in double rib and stockinette stitch. Eyelets for an i-cord drawstring are worked on the cuff to help keep the mitten securely in place. The mittens are designed to keep the tiniest hands warm, with a good fit that is not too bulky and doesn’t slip off easily. I recommend knitting them in a fine, untreated merino wool, as this is the softest option and helps the baby regulate temperature.
